Saturday, 24th of October, 2015 sacked Nyesom
Wike as the Governor of Rivers State and
ordered a fresh governorship election in the
state. It must be recalled that Wike enjoyed a massive support from the former First Lady of
Nigeria, Patience Jonathan, which saw to his supposed victory at the April polls, under PDP. Wike was eventually declared the
State Governor after the April 11 governorship
election.
The petition challenging the election of the sitting
Governor was filed by Dakuku Peterside, the
candidate of the All Progressives Congress
APC, in the last election.
